The prototype mentioned here will stay here for a week or two, but our first full Windows simulation has now been announced on our News page.
We have for some time been trying to find a way we could offer simulations built as Windows applications, but at a reasonable cost, and retaining much of the “look and feel” that customers have grown used to over the twenty years or so we have been producing them. Brian Hornsey has now produced a Windows version of his recent Isle of Wight 1932 simulation, and we are making a trial version of this available here for free download. It behaves just like the full version, but runs only for a few hours.
The downloaded zip file contains three files: IW32.EXE, IW32.CHM, and SIAM.TTF. These should be extracted into the same folder, and IW32.EXE should then be run. We would recommend NOT using any existing \TRAINS folder.

Please note:
Some customers have had difficulty in accessing the Help file for this trial due to a recent “fix” to Windows. If this happens to you, please follow the following instructions (for which we thank John Tempest, a customer who knows about these things):
In Windows Explorer) 1. Right-click the IW32.CHM file, and then click Properties. 2. Click Unblock. 3. Double-click the .chm file to open the file. |
