Reading 1954

Reading 1954 is one of our most complex simulations, and has no less than ten main screens. In addition, there is a screen showing the next arrival on each route, one showing all future departures, and another giving full details of what is in each platform at the main station (Reading General).

The screen above shows the West end of Reading General station, with the junction of the main line and that to Reading West, and the access lines for the ex-GWR loco depot (81D).

rg54p02

This screen shows the ex-GWR loco depot (81D).The turntable is to the left of the main shed building. Access to the lines leading to General Station is on the right; the line at the upper left leades to West Junction.

Taken just after the start of the simulation, this screen shows forthcoming departures. All departures for the day can be viewed using the scroll keys or the mouse. Opposite each departure are details of the incoming working, if any.

rg54p04

This screen shows Reading South station, with the ex-SR loco depot (70E) above. The line above the loco depot is the steeply-graded link to General Station.

The final screen in this set shows the next arrival on each line, giving details of lateness, motive power, and any action required.
